Note this work reverts some changes that replaced
thiswith a reference to the actual class. I ran this locally and did not run into issues around that, and tests are passing. I think this is ok as is.This work is to be deployed for rom prom, and then I plan to revert the revert commits (or perhaps just the commit of this branch merging into main) to ready this repo for special collections updates.
